Spring Means Babies! YEA!

I've been separating leaf pots and potting up the babies. I think I started way too many plants... not really. You can't have too many violets. I have a boatload of my favorites and a few too many of some of my not favorites but pretty anyway so they shouldn't be too hard to get rid of. I'm going to start pulling more trades, like I need more, right? I'm going to let these get a little bigger before I separate them. Two of the pots I will probably pitch because they just don't look as healthy.

I put down about five leaves of Rose Bouquet and every one of them produced multi babies. I have three more of them in water taking root. Yeah, that's how much I love them. I'm hoping one or more will throw a Watermelon Snow someday. I spent more for this one plant than any other in my collection and I'm bound to make it pay for itself somehow.

I do have several other leaves down. I love Optimara's new series of rose shaped violets in their U.S. Park series. I'll be looking to add to my collection. I have Crater Lake 2016 and Rocky Mountain. I just pulled a trade for leaves from Sequoia, Smokey Mountains and my favorite favorite Yosemite. I would be on cloud nine if I ever found one of these in the local Lowes like I did with Crater Lake 2016. It was way in the back and only had one bloom on it in horrible condition but I recognized it! It took me a while to get that one in beautiful shape again.

I separated way too many space violets today. My original plants are not as happy as they can be. I think they need bigger pots, they do get large. So I have leaves for about 5 different varieties and they have produced lots of babies. I'm going to work on my original plants until I figure out what they want from me. ARRRGGGHHH!
